Sonic Innovations from Ayoinmotion
What’s your band’s name? Where’d the name come from?
Ayoinmotion is my name. I have a very talented live band that backs me when I perform. There’s no official name for the band but I like to refer to them as my bandit of a band. I also recently added live dancers. Let’s just say my set is pretty explosive, there’s never a dull or down moment.
The Yellow Collar Collective is all about the daily grind musicians go through to perfect their craft, what has been your biggest struggle and accomplishment as a musician?
Many musicians myself included have a struggle story. Let’s face it, the number of people who are overnight stories is very minuscule. Nine times out of 10, you have paid your dues. For me that struggle is the fact that I get to wake up everyday and dedicate myself to a craft that promises nothing. In terms of accomplishments, I have had quite a few but I am not one to celebrate too long. But to answer your question: I have opened for Talib Kweli, toured europe, interviewed Russell Simmons, opened for Gyptian and a few more things that you can discover when you check out my stuff
Have you ever released any albums or are working on any now? Any special projects?
Right now I am working on numerous things, many new sounds and sonic innovations, but I don’t want to tell. However, if you come to see me live, it’s not hidden. You will definitely see it! Saturday at Pianos (December 5th), let’s just say I have every intention of blowing the roof off! Don’t miss it! In fact, I would suggest getting your ticket in advance, lest we sell out!
